1. Inspection: Before use, carefully inspect the appearance of the pre-filled syringe, including whether the syringe, needle, and stopper are intact, free from damage, deformation, or contamination; whether the medication is clear, without sediment, or discoloration; whether the batch number and expiration date are within the specified range; and whether the packaging is intact.
2. Unpacking: Open the product packaging along the easy-tear opening and remove the pre-filled syringe. Avoid touching the needle and stopper with your hands to prevent contamination.
3. Air Release: Gently push the plunger to expel air from the syringe. When purging, the needle should be facing upwards. Stop pushing after the medication overflows from the needle tip, ensuring there are no air bubbles in the syringe (air bubbles can lead to inaccurate dosage and may cause pain to the patient).
4. Disinfection: Wipe the patient's injection site (e.g., skin) with an alcohol swab, ensuring the disinfection area has a diameter of at least 5cm. Allow the alcohol to completely evaporate before injecting to avoid alcohol entering the needle hole and causing pain.
5. 6. Injection: Holding the syringe, insert the needle vertically or at an angle into the injection site (depending on the injection method, such as subcutaneous or intramuscular injection). Slowly push the plunger to inject the medication into the body. The injection speed should not be too fast to avoid causing patient discomfort.
7. Needle Removal and Pressure: After injection, quickly remove the needle and apply pressure to the injection site with a sterile cotton swab for 3-5 minutes. Apply moderate pressure, avoiding rubbing to prevent bleeding and extravasation.
8. Waste Disposal: Used pre-filled syringes must be disposed of according to medical waste regulations, placed in a dedicated medical waste container, and must not be discarded or reused indiscriminately.
