Pre-filled syringes are mainly used for packaging and storing high-grade drugs and for direct injection or for irrigation in ophthalmic, otological, orthopedic surgeries.

Pre-filled syringes are divided into two categories: those with and without injection needles.

1. Syringes with injection needles have an embedded needle and consist of a glass needle tube, needle cap, piston, and plunger.

2. Syringes without needles are divided into conical and spiral types. Conical syringes consist of a glass needle tube, conical cap, piston, and plunger; spiral syringes consist of a glass needle tube, spiral cap, spiral head, piston, and plunger.

Drug Filling Process: A predetermined amount of drug is filled into the glass needle tube (with cap) using a filling machine. The piston is then pressed in or screwed in to seal the liquid. The plunger is then attached for packaging.

Injection Use: The pre-filled syringe supplied by the pharmaceutical company is removed from the packaging and can be injected directly. The injection method is the same as for ordinary syringes.
